I Said YES!

Words I never thought I’d get to say… I AM ENGAGED! 💍

For the longest time, marriage felt like something far off—something I’d get to eventually. I always envisioned building a family more than walking down the aisle.

So when Jared proposed, I wasn’t just surprised by the question—I was shocked by how natural it felt. It was so right, as if it was always meant to be.

The Perfect Proposal in Miami

Jared’s birthday weekend was already special—his family had flown in from Chicago, and I wanted to make sure they had an unforgettable time in Miami. I was even planning a surprise party for him! But little did I know, the real surprise was for me!

Since he loves sunsets, Jared suggested we sneak away for a quick sunset cruise before introducing our families. With our busy schedules, it was the only time we’d have alone that day.

Looking back, I should have known something was up—he was acting so anxious! I tried to lighten the mood by giving him a big, heartfelt birthday speech, but he could barely focus.

And then…

“I do have one more birthday wish…”

I turned to see him on one knee, opening a little box with a ring inside. 😭

OMG. I screamed AHHHH for a solid ten seconds before finally saying YES! And right at that moment—two dolphins swam up, said hello, and dove back down. Between the dolphins, the birds, and the golden Miami sunset, it felt like absolute magic. Even our boat captain started crying!

We popped open a bottle of champagne, toasted to our happily ever after, and sailed into the most unforgettable night of our lives.

Celebrating with Family & a Special Tribute

The magic didn’t stop there. When we docked, our families were waiting for us, cheering and showering us with love. Inside, my mom and sisters had decorated everything—matching flowers, personalized candles, and even a custom menu with our names on it.

Jared’s dad gave the most powerful, heartfelt speech, bringing everyone (including us) to tears.

Later that night, I felt inspired to visit my dad’s resting place, bringing him flowers to thank him for showing up in his own way. I have no doubt those dolphins were a sign from him. Even though he isn’t physically here, I know his spirit lives on through my happiness.
